A 55-year-old man, identified as Olubunmi Johnson, has been arrested by the Ogun State police command for allegedly setting his wife, Kikelomo, on fire in the Ota area of the state.

According to reports from DAILY POST, the horrifying incident occurred on Friday evening around 8:30 pm, following a heated disagreement between the couple at their home on Fagbuyi Street, Ilogbo. During the altercation, Johnson allegedly poured petrol on his wife and ignited it, leaving her with severe burns.

Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident on Monday, stating that the police were alerted by relatives of the victim. Odutola added that, while the exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, a witness promptly rushed Kikelomo to the hospital for emergency treatment.
