A 45-year-old man, identified as Kazeem, has tragically taken his own life after consuming the hard drug Colorado and jumping into a river in the Alagbado area of Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed in a statement on Sunday that the incident occurred on October 11 at about 11 a.m.

The police received a report indicating that the deceased, under the influence of drugs, began behaving erratically and ultimately jumped into the Odo Tente River, located at the boundary between Lagos and Ogun State.

Despite attempts to intervene, Kazeem drowned in the river. Detectives from the Alagbado police division immediately visited the scene, documenting the incident with photographs.

The victim’s father was contacted and, in accordance with local tradition, directed that his son’s body be buried by the riverside.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter to further understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
