Many injured as three-storey building collapses in Lagos

A three-storey building collapsed on Thursday morning in the heart of Lagos Island, leaving several occupants injured.
The structure, situated on Asesi Lane near the Adeniji Adele Road axis, came crashing down unexpectedly in the early hours of the day, sparking panic in the densely populated neighbourhood.
“Four persons have been rescued from the rubble. They have been taken to hospital,” Lagos State Information Commissioner Gbenga Omotoso said in a Facebook post.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), among others, have since gotten to the incident scene.
While the exact number of injuries remains unconfirmed, eyewitnesses reported that multiple residents were hurt and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
