MC Oluomo sworn in as National President of NURTW
Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has officially been sworn in as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The ceremony took place at the union’s national secretariat in Abuja, following his emergence as president through a consensus decision.
MC Oluomo was elected during the Quadrennial Delegate Conference held at the Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday.
The position, zoned to the Southwest region, saw participation from Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti, and Ondo States.
Accompanied by a large crowd singing celebratory songs, MC Oluomo made his way into the secretariat, where he was introduced to members of the National Administrative Council (NAC) and Central Working Committee (CWC). The official swearing-in ceremony was conducted by the union’s Legal Officer, Mercy Ibeh.
Alongside MC Oluomo’s appointment as national president, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun were sworn in as Vice President, Southwest, and Trustee, respectively.
“I promised to lead the union to a greater height with the help of almighty Allah,” he said.
The union president called for calm and unity among union members.
According to him, welfare of the union members would be his priority.
