He has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Limited (EMTS), also known as 9mobile.

Here is what to know about Mr. Obafemi Banigbe;

Obafemi graduated from Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

He is a graduate of London Business School’s Advanced Management Program and the Ericsson Management Development Program.

He also holds an MBA degree from Manchester Business School, U.K.

Obafemi was the Chief Technical Officer for Millicom International Cellular Tanzania, where he helped drive technology strategy.

Obafemi was the Director of Operations at Celtel (Airtel) Nigeria before joining Millicom.

Additionally, he had held a number of positions with Ericsson, the most recent one being that of Network Support Group Manager for Access and Transport Networks.

He is well-versed in the intricate business climate that exists in the African market today and the necessity of making sure that commercial needs and business objectives are converted into the best possible business plan for successful implementation.
