Messi joins RC Strasbourg on a 3-year deal
RC Strasbourg has officially announced the signing of 17-year-old winger Rayane Messi from National 1 side Dijon FCO.
The highly-rated young talent is set to join Strasbourg’s academy for the upcoming season, adding a promising prospect to the club’s development ranks.
Despite having only four professional appearances, Messi has already attracted significant attention.
He was previously on the radar of several top French clubs, including Olympique de Marseille. However, Marseille opted out of the race due to Dijon’s initial asking price of €4 million.
Strasbourg managed to secure Messi for a significantly lower fee, approximately €1.2 million including bonuses, according to reports by Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
The France U-17 international has committed to a three-year contract, keeping him at RC Strasbourg until the summer of 2027.
This signing highlights Strasbourg’s dedication to nurturing young talent as part of their long-term strategy for success.
