MultiChoice ignores FCCPC order, implements new prices for DStv, GOtv

MultiChoice Nigeria, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, has announced a price adjustment for its subscription packages, set to take effect from Saturday, March 1, 2025.
The company cited rising operational costs as the reason for the increase, despite warnings from the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) against arbitrary price hikes.
In an official statement, MultiChoice Nigeria CEO John Ugbe assured customers of the company’s continued commitment to providing quality entertainment.
“We understand the impact this change may have on you—our valued customer—but the rise in the cost of business operations has led us to make this difficult decision,” the statement read.
MultiChoice also thanked its subscribers for their continued support while reiterating its goal of delivering top-notch content and services.
