The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully destroyed a terrorists’ logistics base in Yadi Forest, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, during an airstrike conducted under Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP) on September 27, 2024.

According to a statement by NAF’s Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the airstrike followed credible intelligence and surveillance reports confirming the presence of terrorists and their weapons in the forest.

The base was reportedly managed by notorious terrorist kingpin Kadade Gurgu, a close ally of Dogo Gide, and had been providing shelter to other criminal elements displaced by military operations in Sokoto and Zamfara states.

The NAF aircraft, supported by an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform, conducted the precision strike, successfully hitting the logistics facility and engulfing it in flames.

Independent sources confirmed the destruction of the base and the killing of numerous terrorists.

Group Captain Ali reassured that NAF, alongside ground forces, will continue its efforts to decimate terrorists and eradicate criminal activities across the North-West and North-Central regions.
