NAPTIP summons Speed Darlington over alleged confession in viral video

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has summoned controversial Nigerian artist, Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington, to its national headquarters in Abuja.
In a formal letter dated May 28, 2025, the agency requested the singer to appear at its office by 9 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025.
The summons follows a widely circulated Instagram live session in which Speed Darlington allegedly claimed he engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl in a hotel.
According to NAPTIP, the statements made in the video, if verified—would constitute a breach of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition), Enforcement and Administration Act of 2015. The agency emphasized the seriousness of the matter and indicated that the singer has questions to answer regarding the allegations.
The agency asked the singer to respond to the requests to avoid further action from the agency.
