Nationwide protest: How ‘Endsars changed me’- Burna Boy speaks up

Award- winning afrobeat superstar, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has finally spoken out about the nationwide hunger protest that has been making headlines. 

As Nigerians took to the streets on Thursday August 1, 2024 to express their frustration with bad governance and soaring food prices, Burna Boy’s voice was noticeably absent until now.

In a poignant statement, Burna Boy has broken his silence, sharing his thoughts on the protest and the state of the nation. His words are a rallying cry for change, urging Nigerians to continue fighting for their rights and demanding better from their leaders

Taking to his X account on Thursday, Burna Boy said that the fight in him for protest died on October 20, 2020 during the EndSARS protest.

He warned his fans against calling his name this time around that a protest is rife across the country.

He wrote, while quoting a tweet he posted on October 20, 2020, “The fight in me Died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around.
