Nigeria Governors in meeting over stamp duty, constitutional amendment
Members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) convened on Wednesday for a physical meeting at the Forum’s secretariat in Abuja.
Though scheduled for 8:00 a.m., the meeting commenced later as only a few governors had arrived at the time. Those in attendance included Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), and Usman Ododo (Kogi).
According to the agenda shared with journalists, the governors are set to deliberate on key issues such as stamp duty, royalties account reconciliation, and updates on the Africa Investment Forum (AIF).
Additionally, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, is expected to make a presentation on the ongoing constitutional amendment process by the National Assembly.
This meeting highlights the governors’ commitment to addressing fiscal policies, investment opportunities, and governance reforms critical to Nigeria’s development.
