The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has removed its former Kano State spokesperson, Musa Nuhu Yankaba, over allegations of anti-party activities.

This decision was announced in a statement on Thursday, January 23, 2024, by party leaders from the Kawaji constituency in Nassarawa Local Government Area.

Yankaba’s dismissal was linked to accusations of betrayal following his controversial remarks during an interview.

In the interview, Yankaba claimed that the party’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, were no longer NNPP members. He also criticized the leadership’s decision to replace the party’s original fruit logo with a book emblem, alleging it had weakened the party.

Yankaba further accused the Kano State government of being elected under the party’s original identity and called for unity to strengthen the NNPP.

Party leaders revealed that Yankaba was summoned on Wednesday to defend himself against these allegations but failed to appear before the leadership.
