The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, has announced that the Federal Government will soon commence a fresh recruitment exercise for the Corps.

Speaking during the inauguration of the NSCDC Bwari Divisional Office on Wednesday in Abuja, Audi revealed that approval had been secured for the recruitment but noted that the exact commencement date would be communicated in due time.

“We are preparing to recruit officially. We appreciate Mr. President for the approval to recruit well-behaved Nigerians into the service,” he stated.

Audi also commended the Bwari Area Council for constructing the new divisional office, emphasizing that it would enhance security operations in the area.

In his remarks, the FCT Commandant of the NSCDC, Olusola Odumosu, lauded the efforts of Bwari Chairman, Dr. John Gabaya, in providing a befitting office space for personnel. He, however, highlighted challenges such as the maintenance and fuelling of operational vehicles, calling for additional support.

“Now that the division has a better facility, we will deploy more personnel and working tools,” Odumosu assured.

He further noted that under his leadership, two new divisions, two area commands, and several observation posts had been established to improve security operations at the grassroots level.
