Obio/Akpor LG Sole Administrator restores Wike’s name at Council’a Admin Block

The Sole Administrator of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Dr. Ndu Walter, has restored Nyesom Ezenwo Wike‘s name on the Admin Bloc of the Council. 

Recall, the former Chairman of the council Mr Chijioke Ihunwo had directed the removal of Wike’s name from the Admin Block.

Following the removal of Wike’s name, Ihunwo had renamed the block after a minority rights activist, Sen. Obi Wali.

Recent checks by News360 Nigeria confirms that Wike’s name had been restored on the block.

It’s good to note that President Bola Tinubu had appointed Retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas as a Sole Administrator after declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State.

The move came with the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, in line with the provisions of the emergency rule directive.

Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike have been at loggerheads over the political structure in the state.

The face-off led to Tinubu suspending Fubara, his deputy, and members of the state House of Assembly.

Recently, Nyesom Wike, had declared that resolving the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State will only be possible if all parties involved and other stakeholders approach it with sincerity.
