Osun Police arrest man for allegedly beheading his father
The Osun State Police Command has detained a man, identified as Saudi, for allegedly beheading his father in Ilusi village.
The shocking incident, unprecedented in recent village history, has left residents in disbelief.
According to sources, the deceased, known as Baale, was reported missing on Thursday after he left for his farm but did not return.
Ismail Olaolu, a local resident, revealed that a search team later discovered Baale’s headless body on Friday, concealed under palm leaves in the farm.
“The search team, mainly youth from the village suspected the deceased’s son, with whom he left for the farm the previous day. He was questioned and after some torture, he confessed to having killed his father.
“The deceased motorcycle and his cocoa harvest were found beside his body on the farm. The suspect was later handed over to the police for investigation.”
When contacted, Osun police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola said she had been briefed and the suspect was still in police detention for further investigation.
