A herbalist named Ezekiel was arrested in Anambra State for possessing around 11 different human bones.

Ezekiel, originally from Ezza in Ebonyi State, was apprehended by security operatives over the weekend in Neni, Anaocha Local Government Area, where he lives.

The arrest followed a tip-off from whistleblowers who noticed suspicious activities at his residence. A video of the raid has been circulating on social media.

The video showed bones of various human parts recovered from the suspect’s residence during the raid.

During interrogation, Ezekiel confirmed that the bones were human but claimed they were brought to him by a relative from Ebonyi State, where there are ongoing communal clashes. He revealed that he uses the bones to prepare different kinds of ‘high-quality charms’ for people.

In the video, one of the interrogators, a member of the security operatives, warned the community to be cautious about whom they rent out their houses to and what activities their tenants engage in. He commended the whistleblower whose information led to the operation and arrest.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the video and disclosed that the suspect was intercepted by vigilantes and police operatives from the Neni Division during a patrol.

“The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation. Further details will be communicated,” Ikenga added.
