Former France midfielder Zinedine Zidane has expressed doubts about coaching Manchester United, citing his reluctance to work in England as a significant factor.

Since his departure from Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane, now 52, has been linked with several top clubs, including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.

However, Zidane recently disclosed that his hesitation to take the Premier League job stems primarily from the language barrier, making it unlikely for him to coach the English side.

In an interview with L’Equipe, Zidane said: “Would I want to go to Manchester [United]? I understand English, but I’m not completely fluent in it.

“I know that there are coaches who go to clubs without speaking the language, but I work in a different way.

He added: “Many elements come into play in order to win, it is a global context. I know what I need to win.”
