PSC appoints six new DIGs, promotes Enugu CP to AIG

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of six Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) and promoted Uzuegbu Kanayo, the Commissioner of Police for Enugu State Command, to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG).
The newly appointed DIGs include:
Sadiq Idiris Abubakar – Former Commandant, Police Academy, Wudil, Kano
Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo – Former AIG, Zone 16, Yenagoa
Williams Adebowale – Former Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos
Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi Bali – Former AIG, FCID Annex, Enugu
Idegwu Basil Ukuoma – Former AIG, Zone 14, Katsina
Adebola Ayinde Hamzat – Former AIG, Zone 16, Yenagoa
Their appointments follow the retirement of six senior DIGs, including DIG Jonathan Towuru, DIG Bala Viroma, and DIG Dasuki Galandachi.
Additionally, the PSC has appointed new Commissioners of Police (CPs) for Oyo and Enugu states:
CP Ademola Johnson – Former Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector-General of Police, now CP Oyo State
CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa – Former DCP Operations in Kaduna and Imo State Commands, now CP Enugu State
Furthermore, eight Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP), following written examinations and oral interviews.
PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), charged the new DIGs to support the Inspector-General of Police in ensuring security across Nigeria.
