The House of Representatives has summoned the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyode, to participate in an investigation into a N15 billion bribery scandal.

In a letter dated September 27, 2024, the House Committee requested the presence of the EFCC Chairman and the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service on September 30, along with officers linked to the accusations.

The investigation stems from a viral voice recording shared on social media, in which popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, allegedly claimed to have paid N15 million to the EFCC to drop money laundering charges. The recording also alleged that Bobrisky stayed in a VIP facility instead of a regular prison.

In addition to the EFCC officials, the committee has also invited Bobrisky and social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man, who released the voice recording, to testify as part of the ongoing inquiry.
