Ayeh Gbede, a farming community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, has been cut off following a heavy downpour that washed away key sections of the road leading to the town.

Comrade Waheed Sikiru, President of the Ayeh Gbede Development Union, disclosed the situation on Thursday morning, noting that three portions of the road from Okoro Gbede had been severely damaged.

“The heavy downpour has completely cut off the road, and farmers are finding it difficult to transport their goods to the market,” Sikiru explained. He called for urgent government intervention, stressing that the deteriorating condition of the road is causing significant hardship for the community.

Sikiru also appealed to Hon. Salman Idris, who represents Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Senator Sunday Karimi of Kogi West, and other well-meaning individuals to assist in restoring access to the community before the situation worsens.
