Cristiano Ronaldo’s late strike secured a dramatic 2-1 victory for Portugal over Scotland in Sunday’s Nations League encounter, marking the 901st goal of the forward’s illustrious career.

Coming off the bench, the 39-year-old added to his extraordinary tally with a crucial goal in the 88th minute, lifting Portugal to their second consecutive win in Group A1.

Scotland stunned the home crowd at Lisbon’s Estadio da Luz with an early goal in the seventh minute, courtesy of Scott McTominay’s header.

However, Portugal’s relentless pressure paid off in the second half, with Bruno Fernandes scoring the equalizer on his 30th birthday.

Despite Gunn’s efforts in Scotland’s goal, Ronaldo’s lethal touch in the final moments secured the comeback, much to the delight of the Portuguese fans. The victory keeps Portugal’s Nations League campaign on track, while Scotland continues to struggle, still seeking their first win over Portugal.
