Mohamed Salah’s late strike salvaged a dramatic 2-2 draw for Liverpool against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, maintaining Liverpool’s strong start to the season under new manager Arne Slot.

Arsenal opened the scoring with Bukayo Saka, but Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk equalized before Mikel Merino restored Arsenal’s lead. Salah, scoring his eighth goal of the season, leveled the game with just nine minutes remaining, benefitting from Arsenal’s defensive woes as Gabriel Magalhaes and Jurrien Timber exited with injuries.

The draw kept Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of Liverpool. Arsenal, however, find themselves five points off the top and grappling with setbacks after a challenging few weeks. The Gunners have now won only three of their last seven league matches, jeopardizing their pursuit of their first title since 2004.
