Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has officially announced his exit from YBNL Nation, the record label owned by rapper Olamide.

His departure had been the subject of speculation for some time, with rumors of a dramatic split circulating.

Asake confirmed the news by releasing his latest single, Why Love, under his newly established record label, Giran Republic.

This move marks a new chapter in his career, signaling his transition to full independence in the music industry.

Earlier this year, Asake paid tribute to Olamide with the release of Military, his first single of the year, effectively shutting down rumors of any dispute between them.

Asake originally joined YBNL Nation in February 2022, quickly rising to prominence with a string of hit songs that established him as one of Nigeria’s most successful contemporary artists.

In July 2022, he made a distribution agreement with Empire.

Even after leaving YBNL, he continues to work with Empire.
