Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, have apprehended two suspects for allegedly stealing aluminum cable wires in the Onijanganjangan area of Obada-Oko, located in Ewekoro Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as 25-year-old Kamoru Mustapha and 26-year-old Mubarak Idris, were reportedly caught red-handed while attempting to make away with the stolen cables.
This development was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday by the state commander of So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.
Commander Ganzallo revealed that the suspects were apprehended around 5 a.m. on March 29, 2025, during a routine patrol conducted by So-Safe Corps operatives.
“The suspects, who are known scavengers, were caught red-handed in a bush while stealing aluminum cable wires,” the statement read.
Ganzallo further revealed that during a preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime.
He added that the suspects, along with the recovered stolen items, have been handed over to the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at Dekudu Village, along Kobape Road, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
