Some people want me dead – Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has dismissed rumors of his death, describing them as baseless and unsettling.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Old-Garage-Oke-Fia-Lameco road in Osun State, Obasanjo revealed that he was alerted by a close ally about the false reports circulating on social media.
Obasanjo, who attended the event at the invitation of Governor Ademola Adeleke as part of activities marking Adeleke’s second year in office, said he checked the claims online and informed his family and friends of the situation.
Expressing disappointment, the former president criticized those spreading false news about his death, warning that anyone wishing him harm would face their own misfortune.
Commending Governor Adeleke’s performance, Obasanjo predicted a successful second term and urged him to continue prioritizing the welfare of Osun residents.
