The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has given the Federal Government a 14-day ultimatum to address several unresolved issues, including the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement and the release of withheld salaries from the 2022 strike.

President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke, expressed frustration over the government’s delay tactics, warning of potential industrial unrest if their demands are not met.

ASUU’s key demands include the implementation of the Nimi Briggs Committee’s 2021 Draft Agreement, payment of outstanding salaries and deductions, funding for public universities, and the adoption of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS).

The union emphasized that failure to resolve these matters within the given timeframe would result in industrial disharmony, for which ASUU will not be held responsible.
