Super Cup: DFB slams match ban, fine on Victor Boniface over unsportsmanlike conduct

Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has been handed a one-match ban and fined €25,000 by the German Football Federation (DFB) for unsportsmanlike behavior.

The disciplinary measures stem from an incident that occurred during the Super Cup match against VFB Stuttgart last Saturday.

After the match ended, Boniface reportedly made an obscene gesture towards some Stuttgart players as he walked by.

While the referee did not witness the incident at the time, the DFB’s disciplinary committee conducted a retrospective investigation and subsequently brought charges against Boniface. Both the player and Bayer Leverkusen have accepted the committee’s decision.

As a consequence, Boniface will be sidelined for an upcoming German Cup match, serving the suspension as part of the punishment.
