The Super Eagles have arrived safely at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano State following their challenging experience in Libya ahead of the 2025 AFCON Qualifier.

The team’s flight, initially bound for Benghazi, was diverted to a remote airport, forcing them to endure a three-hour road journey to reach their match venue.

The situation escalated when the players and officials were stranded at the Libyan airport for over 13 hours without basic necessities such as food, water, or adequate rest. Viral photos of the team sleeping on benches stirred widespread outrage and led to criticism from Nigerian authorities.

Despite the difficulties, the Super Eagles have now returned home, with their arrival in Kano marking the end of an exhausting journey. The incident has raised serious concerns about the treatment of the Nigerian national team while in Libya.
