Super Falcons drawn in pot 1 for 2024 WAFCON
The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been placed in Pot One for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the draw procedure on Thursday night, which revealed that Nigeria’s national women’s team will compete in Group B.
Joining Nigeria in Pot One are the hosts, Atlas Lionesses of Morocco, and the defending champions, Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
Pot Two consists of Zambia, Ghana, and Tunisia, while Mali, Senegal, and Algeria are in Pot Three. In Pot Four, the teams are the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and Botswana.
This year’s tournament promises to bring intense competition as the teams battle for supremacy in African women’s football.
The draw will be conducted at the Technic Centre of the Mohamed VI Football Complex in Sale, outside Rabat, Morocco on Friday (today).
