Tension as gunmen abduct PDP chieftain in Oyo

Gunmen have reportedly abducted Otunba Benedict Akika, a key chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and close associate of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

The incident took place late Wednesday night in the Olohundaaba area of Lagelu Local Government, Oyo State.

Akika, also known as “Benee,” was allegedly taken from his residence along the Akobo Ojurin-Olohunda road in Ibadan.

While details remain unconfirmed, there are reports that one person was killed during the abduction.

Efforts to reach the Oyo State Police Command for confirmation have so far been unsuccessful, as Public Relations Officer SP Adewale Osifeso has not responded.

Authorities are actively investigating the case, with further updates expected.
