Three well-known native doctors have been arraigned before the Anambra State High Court in Awka on charges related to money rituals and aiding criminals.

The accused, Onyebuchi Okocha, also known as Onyeze Jesus; Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly called Akwa Okuko; and Ekene Igboekweze, known as Eke Hit, appeared in court separately as their charges were read out in a packed courtroom.

The allegations against them include preparing money rituals and providing protective charms for criminals.

Presiding over the case, Justice Onuorah adjourned the matter to April 11, 2025.

Speaking to newsmen after the court proceedings, one of the Counsels for the 3 defendants, Remigus Okoli, said the state government came with a ploy to remand the defendants.

He insisted that the accused were not given adequate time to prepare for their defense.

Efforts to speak with Counsels to the state government led by F C Okeke were not successful.
