President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new members to the governing council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

The announcement was made on Thursday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to Onanuga, the appointments align with the president’s commitment to strengthening the NCDMB’s capacity to drive local content development in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The presidential spokesman noted that the new board members were appointed after the exit of the previous representatives from various organisations.

He noted that the NCDMB is committed to exploring ways to improve on its responsibilities of overseeing and promoting Nigerian participation in the oil and gas sector among others.

Onanuga also said the new appointees are expected to use their expertise to drive local content growth in the sector.

The newly appointed members of the NCDMB board are:

1. Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

2. Wole Ogunsanya of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN).

3. Sam Azoka Onyechi, representing the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum (NCCF).

4. Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
