President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s awareness of the economic difficulties faced by Nigerians, emphasizing the commitment to alleviate these challenges.

Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, at a service commemorating Pastor Tunde Bakare’s 70th birthday at The Citadel in Lagos State, Tinubu acknowledged the current hardships but expressed optimism about the future.

“The President acknowledges that times are hard, but at the end of the tunnel, there is always light,” Akume conveyed. He further explained that solving the nation’s complex economic problems would not yield instant results, likening the process to something that cannot be as immediate as “instant coffee.” However, he assured Nigerians that the country is progressing on the right track.

The economic challenges stem from recent policy reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the Naira, measures which the government insists are crucial for long-term economic recovery and stability.

“Pastor Bakare, fondly called P.T.B., has been a beacon of hope and a voice for the voiceless in our society,” Tinubu stated, honouring Bakare’s contributions as a spiritual leader and nation builder.

Other dignitaries, including Lagos and Ogun governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, joined in praising Bakare’s lasting impact both politically and spiritually.
