Tinubu elevates acting Army Chief Olufemi Oluyede to Lieutenant General
President Bola Tinubu has officially elevated Olufemi Oluyede, the acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS), to the rank of Lieutenant General.
The ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, where Tinubu decorated Oluyede with his new rank.
If confirmed by the Senate, Oluyede will assume the role of substantive army chief, fully succeeding his predecessor, Lagbaja.
This promotion, which raises Oluyede from Major General to Lieutenant General, comes only days after his appointment as acting army chief by President Tinubu.
