Tinubu names governing board for North West Development Commission (NWDC)
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated individuals to serve on the inaugural Governing Board of the North West Development Commission (NWDC).
The list of nominees has been submitted to the Senate for confirmation.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, made the announcement on Friday.
This development comes after President Tinubu signed the North West Development Commission Bill into law in July.
The NWDC is set to drive regional development initiatives in Nigeria’s North West, with the newly nominated board members playing a critical role in shaping its strategic direction.
The NWDC Governing Board Nominees are:
Chairman: Ambassador Haruna Ginsau (Jigawa)
MD/CEO: Professor Abdullahi Shehu Ma’aji (Kano)
Members:
– Dr. Yahaya Umar Namahe (Sokoto)
– Hon. Aminu Suleiman (Kebbi)
– Sen. Tijani Yahaya Kaura (Zamfara)
– Hon. Abdulkadir S. Usman (Kaduna)
– Hon. Engr. Muhammad Ali Wudil (Kano)
– Shamsu Sule (Katsina)
– Nasidi Ali (Jigawa)
“The nominated board members are expected to contribute their wealth of experience and expertise to the Commission’s mandate of developing the North-West region.
“The NWDC will focus on catalysing significant growth, economic empowerment, and social development of the region.
