Tinubu reassign leadership positions at FUOYE
In a bid to strengthen diversity and national unity within Nigeria’s tertiary education system, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an immediate swap of pro-chancellors and chairmen of the governing councils at two federal universities.
A statement from Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the reassignment on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, formerly the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, will now serve in the same capacity at Federal University, Oye-Ekiti. Conversely, Engineer Kayode Ojo, who previously held the position at Oye-Ekiti, has been reassigned to Lokoja.
The move reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering balanced representation and ensuring efficient management across Nigeria’s higher education institutions.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate swap of the Pro-Chancellors and Chairmen of the Governing Councils for the Federal University Oye-Ekiti and Federal University Lokoja.
“In this reshuffling, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, currently serving as the Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja, will take over at Federal University Oye-Ekiti.
“Engineer Kayode Ojo, who previously held a similar position at Oye-Ekiti, will assume the role in Lokoja.
“This strategic change is part of President Tinubu’s initiative to foster diversity and national cohesion in the management of the country’s universities”, the statement said.
The leadership adjustments at the two institutions are expected to promote collaborative growth and reflect the administration’s broader efforts to strengthen governance in federal universities.
