Tinubu receives defected PDP chieftain Pius Anyim in Aso Rock

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed former Senate President Pius Anyim to the State House in Abuja, accompanied by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.

Senator Anyim, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was introduced to President Tinubu by Governor Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF).

On why he defected to the ruling party, Anyim said: “Given the challenges the country is facing, there’s a need to put our hands on deck. The country is passing through turbulent times and it is the duty of all patriots if you have nothing to add to ensure that you continue to the peaceful atmosphere.”

Uzodimma described Anyim as a big fish caught by the ruling party.

Also, Nwifuru said Anyim is not a small fry and is not looking for food.
