One dead, other students hospitalized as classroom block collapses in Yobe

Potiskum, Yobe State – A tragic incident occurred today, Thursday, at the Government Girls Science Technical College, Potiskum, when a classroom block collapsed during school hours, leaving several students trapped under the rubble.

Eyewitnesses reported that emergency responders and school officials rushed to the scene to rescue the victims.

The injured students were immediately taken to the Specialists Hospital, Potiskum for medical treatment.

At the time of filing this report, hospital sources confirmed that several students are receiving treatment, while one has been confirmed dead.

In response to the tragedy, officials from the Yobe State Ministry of Education have traveled from Damaturu to Potiskum to assess the situation.
