A devastating car accident on Monday morning claimed the lives of three young girls in Calabar, Cross River State.

The tragic incident occurred on MCC Road in the Calabar Municipal area when a white Mercedes GLK, part of a convoy, was involved in a fatal crash.

The driver, a young man, reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to a horrific collision. Three of the four female passengers died instantly, while the sole survivor sustained severe injuries, including broken limbs. She was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

The accident, which has shocked the local community, happened during what started as a late-night outing in the recently purchased vehicle. The car was found in a mangled state, and one of the girls was reportedly pulled from the wreckage with a dismembered body.

Efforts to reach the Cross River Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for an official statement have been unsuccessful as of the time of this report. The community is mourning the loss of the young lives in this tragic event.
