South African club Stellenbosch FC has secured the services of Nigerian defender Enyinnaya Kazie on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old center-back, formerly of Rivers United, played a pivotal role in the club’s historic 2021/22 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title triumph.

During his time with the Port Harcourt-based side, Kazie made over 160 appearances and also earned caps for the Nigerian national team.

Expressing his excitement, Kazie said, “First of all, I want to thank God for bringing me here after a long wait. I’m very happy to be part of the Stellenbosch family.

It is a great club that has already achieved some great things, like reaching the MTN8 final this season and competing in the CAF Confederation Cup. I look forward to contributing positively and making the fans and coaches proud.”

Kazie, who will wear jersey number 16, is expected to make his official debut for Stellenbosch early next month, further strengthening their defensive lineup.
