Troops neutralize notorious bandit kingpins Kachalla Muchelli, Ma’oli
Nigerian troops under Operation Fansan Yamma have intensified their offensive against terrorist elements in the North West, successfully eliminating notorious bandit leaders in Katsina and Zamfara States.
In Katsina State, troops launched an operation in Mai Sheka village, Kunchin Kalgo town, neutralizing several terrorists, including a notorious kingpin, Alhaji Ma’oli.
According to counterterrorism expert Zagazola Makama, intelligence sources revealed that Ma’oli was responsible for imposing levies and orchestrating criminal activities across multiple communities, including Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, Unguwar Dan Halima, Unguwar Dan Mairo, and Katangan Yamma.
Similarly, in Zamfara State, troops of Counter Terrorism Team 7 (CT 7) conducted a fighting patrol along the Bilbis-Danjigba axis in Tsafe Local Government Area on December 25. During the operation, troops engaged and neutralized Kachalla Muchelli, a notorious bandit commander and leader of the Kuchi Kalgo camp.
Military sources confirmed that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to eradicate banditry and terrorism in the region. “These actions demonstrate the military’s commitment to restoring peace and stability across affected communities,” the publication stated.
The successes in Katsina and Zamfara reflect the Nigerian Armed Forces’ strategic drive to dismantle criminal networks and enhance security in the North West region.
