Troops rescues 13 kidnapped students, neutralizes insurgents in Kaduna raid

In a decisive operation, Nigerian Army troops successfully raided a terrorist stronghold in Kaduna, rescuing 13 kidnapped students and others.

The September 12, 2024, operation led to the neutralization of some insurgents and the capture of others.

The raid, based on reliable intelligence, took place at Chigbolu village, Kachia Local Government Area. After an intense firefight, the troops overpowered the terrorists, forcing them to flee. Among the rescued victims were six males and seven females, who were promptly taken to 1 Division Medical Services and Hospital for medical attention.

The operation also yielded a significant cache of arms, including an AK-47 rifle, magazines, and a locally fabricated rifle.

In a separate operation, two notorious terrorist logistics suppliers, Mallam Usman Waikili and Salisu Idris, were arrested at Kagarko village, with troops confiscating cash, SIM cards, and mobile phones.

In Suleja, Niger State, another operation led to the neutralization of three terrorists and the capture of three others, who revealed the location of a hidden armoury filled with arms and ammunition.

The Nigerian Army commended the troops for their efforts, urging them to maintain their momentum in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
