Trump, Putin reach agreement on Russia-Ukraine ceasefire

President Donald Trump revealed details of his phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, describing it as “a very good and productive one.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that their discussion primarily focused on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. He further claimed that both leaders had agreed to “an immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure.”
While Trump’s statement suggests a potential breakthrough, there has been no official confirmation from the Kremlin or the Biden administration regarding any such agreement. The development comes amid ongoing international efforts to broker peace in the region.
The leaders also reached an understanding to work quickly towards a complete ceasefire to end “this very horrible war.”
“This war would never have started if I were President!” Trump added.
“Many elements of a Contract for Peace were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are being killed, and both President Putin and President Zelenskyy would like to see it end.
“That process is now in full force and effect, and we will, hopefully, for the sake of humanity, get the job done!” the President wrote.
