Trump signs executive order to cut federal funds for undocumented migrants

U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at identifying and cutting off federal funds being used to support undocumented migrants, the White House announced on Wednesday.
According to a White House fact sheet, the order instructs federal departments and agencies to review all federally funded programs that provide financial benefits to undocumented immigrants and implement corrective measures. It also ensures that federal funds allocated to states and local governments are not used to support “sanctuary” policies or assist illegal immigration.
Additionally, the directive mandates stricter eligibility verification processes to prevent individuals who are unlawfully present in the U.S. from accessing federal benefits. The order aims to ensure that “taxpayer resources are not used to incentivize or support illegal immigration,” the document stated.
