South Africa has been awarded the hosting rights for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, scheduled for January 2025, as reported by News360 Nigeria.
This announcement follows the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) decision to select South Africa as the host nation for the tournament.
It’s noteworthy that South Africa last hosted this competition 13 years ago, during which Nigeria emerged as champions by defeating Senegal in the final.
Before the Flying Eagles can participate in the 2025 tournament, they must first qualify through the WAFU B qualifying tournament, which will take place in Togo next month.
Last year, the Flying Eagles finished third at the U20 AFCON in Egypt
