UK Army opens recruitment for Nigerians, commonwealth citizens (How to apply)
The British Army has officially commenced the recruitment of Nigerians and other Commonwealth citizens to join its ranks.
Applications are now open for a variety of roles, including musicians, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Royal Engineers technicians, tradesmen, and paratroopers. The application window runs from August 19, 2024, to August 26, 2024.
The British Army highlighted the crucial contributions of Commonwealth soldiers and their ongoing significance within its forces.
To be considered, applicants must have their applications linked to the Recruit Bounty Referral Scheme, which involves a referral from current British Army members, with the exception of those applying for musician roles.
It added that every applicant must pass a series of fitness tests, including the multistage fitness test (beep test), seated ball throw, and mid-thigh pull, stressing that the recruits are to quit smoking and focus on a balanced diet.
However, it revealed that candidates must be ready to travel to the UK for further assessment in October and November 2024.
The British Army also said basic training commencing between January and March 2025.
