UNIZIK student dies after jumping from three-storey building

A male student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has died after jumping from a three-storey building near the institution’s main gate.

The tragic incident happened at a private lodge close to the university, where eyewitnesses say the student may have taken hard drugs before the fall.

Residents in the area reported hearing a loud thud and rushed out, only to discover the young man lying in a pool of blood. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but was later confirmed dead.

It was discovered that the student’s roommate was also under the influence of the same substances, as he was found in an incoherent state in their room.

It was gathered that the roommate is currently in police custody and will be questioned once he stabilizes.

The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed and authorities are said to be working to reach the family, while investigations into the incident continue.
