US Poll: Kamala Harris challenges Trump to a debate in October

Vice President Kamala Harris has issued a direct challenge to former President Donald Trump for another debate as part of the lead-up to the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Harris’s campaign confirmed on Saturday that she had accepted an invitation from CNN for a debate scheduled on October 23.

“Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share a stage with Donald Trump,” Harris’s campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, said in a statement. “Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate.”

As both candidates continue their campaigns, the potential debate would offer a high-profile platform for the two political figures to confront each other on key issues, presenting their visions to the American public ahead of the election. Whether Trump accepts the invitation remains to be seen.
