VeryDarkMan arrives Lagos Court in traditional attire for defamation hearing involving Falz, Falana
Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), appeared at the Lagos High Court this morning, November 14, dressed in traditional Edo attire.
The social critic is facing a defamation suit filed by Nigerian rapper Falz and his father, renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN.
The legal action follows VDM’s refusal to issue an apology or delete a video containing remarks deemed defamatory. In the video, VDM had analyzed a controversial audio clip purportedly involving popular social media personality Bobrisky and an unidentified man. In the clip, the voice alleged to be Bobrisky claimed that Falz had contacted him while in prison and had sought his father’s assistance to secure a presidential pardon. The individual further alleged paying an undisclosed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) the sum of N10 million to help facilitate the pardon.
VDM expressed disbelief in his commentary, suggesting a potential link between the Falanas and Bobrisky, which led to the legal suit. The court hearing is set to address the alleged defamatory content and the critic’s refusal to comply with the Falanas’ demands.
