Veteran Nollywood actor Charles Olumo dies at 101
The Nigerian film industry is in deep mourning following the passing of the beloved veteran actor Abdulsalam Sanyaolu, famously known as Charles Olumo or Agbako.
Renowned for his impactful roles and long-standing presence in the industry, Charles Olumo passed away at the remarkable age of 101, leaving behind a legacy cherished by many in Nollywood and beyond.
Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin and the president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), shared the heartbreaking news through an Instagram post.
In his message, Mr. Latin expressed the profound loss felt within the Nollywood community, honoring the late actor’s contributions and dedication to Nigerian cinema.
Charles Olumo, fondly referred to as Agbako, captivated audiences with his unique talent and charismatic performances that spanned several decades. His influence and legacy will be remembered as a cornerstone of the Nigerian film industry.

In a heartfelt tribute, fellow actor Jide Kosoko remarked: “Good night, Baba Charles (Agbako). You lived a fulfilling 101 years. May your legacy endure. R.I.P.”
